More Info

Students benefit enormously from study abroad experiences as these experiences expose them to cultures other than their own and equip them to think and act with both in mind. It nurtures leadership skills, adaptability, empathy, independence, and initiative.

At the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, students currently have three different study abroad experiences to pursue; London, Nicaragua, and Sweden. In each program, students explore both the past and the future of public health as well as the organization, financing, challenges, and future direction of each country's health system. Participants spend time in a classroom as well as exploring historic sites, landmarks, museums, and other cultural sites related to health and health systems.

A substantial portion of our undergraduate population at FSPH are first-generation students who are under-resourced. These students want to take advantage of study abroad opportunities, but simply can’t afford to. Your gift today will help us create a study abroad scholarship that will provide these opportunities to our students.  To help us meet this goal, one generous donor has agreed to match all donations through this campaign--up to a total of $2,500.

Thank you for considering a gift today.  Your generosity will aid us in the challenging task of helping to guarantee a prosperous future by training tomorrow’s very best healthcare leaders.
