The John Whittenberger Society (JWS) is inviting you to participate in IU Day to raise funds for the Indiana Memorial Union Board Scholarship fund.
The John Whittenberger Society (JWS) was organized to maintain a connection with Union Board alumni and friends to promote projects and to raise funds for the benefit of Indiana University and the Indiana Memorial Union.
We are asking that you support the Indiana Memorial Union Board Scholarship fund. This endowed fund was established to support student scholarships for Indiana Memorial Union Board of Directors and Union Board Committee Members. Scholarships are awarded based upon need, academic record, and performance as a member of Union Board or a Board Committee.
Past scholarship recipients share their thoughts on the importance of the fund for themselves and future nominees.
"I have been very passionate about Union Board since the first committee meeting I attended freshman year. I took on two assistant director roles early on and now I am enjoying my time as a director. I've invested a lot of time and energy into Union Board over the past few years so it was very rewarding to know that John Whittenberger Society wanted to invest in me by giving me a scholarship. It helped me pay some of my outlying expenses for school and encouraged me to further my involvement and contribution to Union Board." - Josh Thomas, South Bend, IN, Sophomore, Marketing and Entrepreneurship Major
"I joined Union Board because I wanted to make a difference at IU and I was looking for a place to fit in." - Beth Netheny
